Establishment of diplomatic relations:
The Argentine Republic and the Kingdom of Thailand established diplomatic relations on 2/2/1955 by signing in Washington, United States, the Agreement Establishing Diplomatic Relations.
Argentina was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with Thailand.
On 23 May 1960 both countries signed the Agreement Raising the Diplomatic Offices in Buenos Aires and Bangkok to the rank of Embassy, which came into force on July 15 of the same year.
