On November 8, the 18th edition of the “Argentine Embassy Cup", a polo competition which also included a tasting of Argentine drinks and products, was held at the Thai Polo Club in Pattaya, co-organized by the Argentine Embassy and the Thai Polo Club.
In a heart-stopping final game, the team “Argentina” squeezed out a victory against “Hong Kong”. Congratulations to the winners and also to the other three teams that were chasing the trophy, including team “Thailand” and “Singapore”.
In this remarks, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Argentine Embassy Javier De Cicco highlighted that polo is globally dominated by Argentina, which supplies most of the professional polo players and even the horses, who are trained for races.
More than one hundred guests attended the event, including members of the diplomatic corps, influencers, media representatives, businessmen, importers, Argentine residents in Thailand, polo enthusiasts, and relatives of the polo players.
After the matches, guests were treated to a delicious barbecue (asado) cooked by Sergio González Crubelli, the popular chef of Don Asado steakhouse. In addition, there was a tasting of the following products:
-Argentine wine from Santa Ana and La Mascota wineries; Luigi Bosca winery; and Antigal winery, sponsored by Vanichwathana; Boozia Distribution; and Noble Marketing, respectively.
-Yerba mate cold and traditional drinks, sponsored by importing company Latino Secrets, owned by Kritsana and Pablo Serafini.
-Bon-o-Bon, the landmark product produced and exported by the Argentine confectionary company ARCOR.
-Argentine “alfajores” with “dulce de leche” (sweet from milk), sponsored by Del Plata, a trading company focusing on Argentine products based in Vietnam, owned by Guillermo Pérez Cena.
