On July 9, the Argentine Embassy celebrated the 209th anniversary of Argentina's Declaration of Independence, in the special context of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Thailand in 2025.

At least 250 people attended the celebration, including Thai authorities, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Thailand, Thai businesspeople, media representatives, influencers, and many Argentine residents in Thailand.

The celebration began with the Thai and Argentine anthems, and after that the Chargé d'Affaires of the Argentine Embassy Javier De Cicco and the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Lalivan Karnchanachari, gave the opening remarks.

Guests were invited later to taste Argentine dishes and drinks, including Argentine empanadas, Argentine red shrimp, alfajores, Argentine wine, beer, and drinks made with yerba mate, all of which were supplied by sponsoring companies.

Argentine tango was also present, thanks to Thai tango teacher Gift Nanthanan and the Singaporean dancer Kevin Yap Soon Hock, who  danced two classical tango songs for an audience that couldn't stop taking photos and videos of them.

Before the conclusion of the event, a lucky draw was held for a round flight ticket to Buenos Aires, kindly sponsored by Ethiopian Airlines, which since 2018 has been offering one of the cheapest and shortest routes to Argentina.
