On January 31, Argentine Ambassador Gustavo Alberto Martino attended the "FIFA World Cup Predictions 2022" awards ceremony, hosted by Thairath, which is one of the biggest media companies in Thailand. He was accompanied by his wife, Jennifer Kiley Irwin.

The "FIFA World Cup Predictions 2022" is a contest carried out at each Football World Cup, where millions of Thairath viewers and readers send a post card stating who they think the winner of the tournament will be.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Martino was invited to pick the winning post card for the first prize -5 million baht- from those who stated that Argentine would win the World Cup in 2022.

Ambassador later gave a short speech in which he highlighted Argentina's potential for cooperation in sports with Thailand.
