On February 9, the new Argentine Ambassador to Thailand, Claudio Ricardo Gutiérrez, formally presented copies of his Letter of Credence to the Director General of the Protocol Department of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chakkrid Krachaiwong.
Ambassador Gutiérrez is a career diplomat who, until recently, served as Director General of Human Resources at the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship in Buenos Aires.
Previously, Ambassador Gutiérrez held various diplomatic posts abroad, including Argentine Ambassador to Vietnam (2013-2016) and Argentine Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2018-2023).
The Letter of Credence, signed by the President of Argentina Javier Gerardo Milei, is the formal document by which the Argentine Government appoints Ambassador Gutiérrez as its representative to the Kingdom of Thailand.
In accordance with Thai protocol, on a later date to be set, Ambassador Gutiérrez will proceed to hand the original Letter of Credence to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua.
