Medical tests: Not required.

Vaccination certificates: Not required.

2. Visa regime for holders of ordinary passport [If you hold an official or diplomatic passport, please scroll down to 3]

2.1. Tourist visa

** You do not need visa to enter Argentina as a tourist if you hold a Thai passport or a passport issued by any of these countries or territories.

In these cases, once you enter Argentina without a visa you can stay in our country up to ninet (90) days. Exceptions: the maximum length of stay is sixty (60) days for holders of passports issued by Venezuela and thirty (30) days for holders of passports issued by Granada, Hong Kong [passport BNO], Kazakhstan, Macau and Malaysia.

You may leave and return to Argentina as many times as you want throughout that period, but you must depart before the expiry of the 90 days / 60 days / 30 days counted from your first entry to Argentina.

Be reminded that foreign travellers who enter Argentina without a visa are not allowed to work. The visa-free entry only allows the foreign traveller to conduct tourist-related activities during the stay in Argentina.

** If the country or territory that issued your passport is not included in the above list and therefore you need a visa to enter Argentina as a tourist, you can instead opt to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) if the following three requirements are met:

i- Your passport has been issued by any of these countries or territories;

ii- You hold a valid B2/ J / B1 / O / P (P1-P2-P3) / E / H-1B visa issued by the United States; and

iii- That visa still lasts for at least one hundred and ten (110) days.

The ETA allows a length of ninety (90) days stay in Argentina and allows for multiple entries and exits.

The ETA replaces the visa, so if you already have got an ETA you do not need to apply for visa.

Likewise, the application for ETA does not prevent the subsequent application for a visa, so if your ETA was rejected you can still apply for a visa.

The application for ETA must be submitted online through the website of the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones (DNM) which you can access here.

You will be required to pay the fee (USD 400) by card (non-refundable) and attach a copy of the required United States visa. The processing time is twenty (20) days.

Note that Argentine Embassies and Consulates do not have competence regarding ETA. Any enquiry or complaint related to ETA application should be sent to: ave@migraciones.gov.ar.

** If you do not prefer or are not eligible to apply for ETA, in order to apply for tourist visa you have to fill out this visa application form and prepare the other documents listed here.

With regard to the letter of invitation, where needed, it must be written in Spanish, signed by the inviting party in Argentina and sent to the Embassy following these instructions (in Spanish).

Once you have prepared all the documents, submit your visa application by email to: secon_etail@mrecic.gov.ar. Attach to the email the visa application form already electronically filled out (without signature) and photo or scanned copies of the other required documents. With regard to the passport photos or copies, please include all of the used pages.

The Embassy will reply to your email within five (5) working days either requesting further documents or clarifications, or proposing a date and time for the consular interview.

On the date and time set for the consular interview you must bring all the original documents and, if you are under 18 years old, you must come accompanied by your parents, who will sign an authorization letter for your visa application.

Before the consular interview and after submitting all the original documents, you will be asked to pay the visa fee, which is USD 150. Exceptions: USD 250 for holders of passports issued by Kosovo, Saharaui Republic and Taiwan | Free of charge for holders of passports issued by Morocco and India.

The fee must be in local currency, at the exchange rate valid on that date. The exact amount in local currency will be informed at the Embassy. The payment can be made by transfer, card, bank deposit or QR code.

Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee the issuance of the visa, which remains at the exclusive option of the Argentine state.

Failure to provide truthful information will result in visa denial and registration in the Argentine consular database.

If the application is successful, the visa will be granted within five (5) days if you hold a Thai passport or within sixty (60) days if you hold a passport issued by another country or territory.

The length of stay in Argentina allowed by the visa will be maximum ninety (90) days.

The length of stay in Argentina allowed by the tourist visa can be extended for the same period of time, only once. The foreign holder of Argentine tourist visa, if interested, shall apply for this extension once in Argentina and before the expiry of the allowed length of stay, at any office of the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones (DNM).

2.2. Transit visa

** You do not need transit visa to enter Argentina if you hold a Thai passport or a passport issued by any of these countries or territories.

If your passport was not issued by any of those countries or territories but you will just stay in the arrival airport until your departure to another country and you have outbound flight ticket, you do not need transit visa either.

** If you do need a transit visa, submit your visa application by email to: secon_etail@mrecic.gov.ar. Attach to the email this visa application form already electronically filled out (without signature) and photo or scanned copies of your passport or seaman's book.

The Embassy will reply to your email within five (5) working days either requesting further documents or clarifications, or proposing a date and time for the consular interview.

On the date and time set for the consular interview you must bring your passport or seaman's book, in original.

Before the consular interview and after submitting all the original documents, you will be asked to pay the visa fee, which is USD 40. Exceptions: USD 250 for holders of passports issued by Kosovo, Saharaui Republic and Taiwan | Free of charge for holders of passports issued by Morocco and India.
