Cambodia

Establishment of diplomatic relations:

The Argentine Republic and the Kingdom of Cambodia established diplomatic relations on 28 January 1960 by signing in Bangkok, Thailand, a Note on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations.

On 31 May 1961, the creation of the Legation of the Argentine Republic in Cambodia took place.

. Joint Declaration on the Elevation of Diplomatic Relations (New York, 25/5/1994)

. Technical Cooperation Agreement (New York, 24/9/2012)

. Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations (New York, 22/9/2022)

Current mechanisms of dialogue:

. Political Consultations, about which the first meeting was held in Buenos Aires on 11/5/2023.

Visits to Cambodia by senior Argentine officials:

25/8 and 26/8/2014: Visit by the Undersecretary for Foreign Policy Carolina Pérez Colman, who met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Horn Namhong, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ouch Borith and the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education Pit Chamnan.

Bilateral trade:

Argentine exports to Cambodia in 2022: USD 7,05 million

Argentine imports from Cambodia in 2022: USD 28,6 million

Technical cooperation projects carried out in Cambodia:

Project FOAR 6240 “Strengthening of Analysis Capacities in Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (Plant Quarantine)”. Status: completed.
