The Argentine Embassy participated in the 13th edition of Thai Silk: Road to the World, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of Thailand and the Association of Thai Silk and Culture Promotion.

Held at the Thai Royal Navy Conference Hall on August 31, this event is part of an ongoing effort to promote the Thai silk internationally, following the initiative of Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.

This celebration of the Thai silk included a fashion show that featured 93 dresses, modelled by Thai government delegates from numerous Ministries and representatives of more than 90 diplomatic missions, including the Argentine Embassy.

Mme. Jennifer Kiley Irwin –spouse of the Ambassador Gustavo Alberto Martino and a member of the organizing committee of the event– impressed the audiences showcasing a beautiful dress in shades of blue, representing Argentina.

This dress was enthusiastically designed by the Fashion Design School of Udon Thani province and is inspired by Tango, a dance style registered in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Behind Mme. Kiley Irwin, a big screen displayed images of some of Argentina's top tourist destinations.
