On July 9, we celebrated the 210th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence at the Official Residence. A group of forty Argentines residing in Thailand, who maintain frequent collaboration and contact with the Embassy, ​​attended the event.

In his remarks, delivered before the singing of the Argentine National Anthem, Argentine Ambassador Claudio Ricardo Gutiérrez reflected on the importance of the date and the dynamic nature of the construction of independence.

The Ambassador also highlighted the potential for synergies between Argentines in Thailand and the Embassy, ​​and expressed his interest in getting to know all members of the community soon. He also stressed the importance of these kinds of fraternal gatherings among compatriots.

During the celebration, guests enjoyed Argentine products such as empanadas milanesa sandwiches and medialunas, sourced from Argentine businesses in Bangkok, as well as Argentine wine from local importers.

The event struck a good balance between formality and symbolism, with the informality that comes from the friendships forged by Argentines living so far from our homeland.
